Shrimp Industry: The Southern Shrimp Alliance is hosting a town hall meeting in Biloxi, MS on December 19, 2016 at 10:00 am.
MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center
1815 Popps Ferry Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532
- SSA Director John Williams to attend
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information on an important U.S. International Trade Commission survey that has a Dec. 28 deadline in regards to anti-dumping duties on imported shrimp. The ITC seeks information from shrimp fishermen, shrimp buyers, shrimp processors, and shrimp importers to determine if material injury continues to occur from the illegal dumping of imports. This topic is up for sunset review and could result in the loss of tariffs if survey participation is negligible.
Participation in the survey could determine eligibility for future payments from funds collected as a result of anti-dumping agreements. If you are a stake holder in the U.S. shrimp industry, completion of the survey is highly recommended.
The survey will be made available for meeting attendees to complete. The survey can be completed online as well.
